Last years Tour de Cure was great! I rode 35 miles and raised $3500 for diabetes education & research. I also met some really great people and got involved in a cause that I can believe in.
Riding in the Tour has multiple benefits for me … obviously raising money for diabetes research can only help… and riding is a great exercise.
So this year I’m stepping it up a notch.
I’ve signed up to do the ride again … except this time I’m riding a “Metric Century” … which is 100km (about 62 miles). And, of course, I’m a Red Rider (a rider who has diabetes).
PLUS, my friend Steve is riding with me. I’m working on getting my friend Marty to ride too.
Add to all that … I’ve volunteered to help out with the ride … I’m captain of Team Red!
Team Red is for Red Riders, their family, friends and anyone else who is looking to join with millions of others who want to Stop Diabetes! Any rider who isn’t already on another team can join Team Red.
If you would like to sponsor me for my ride, visit my Tour Page. Any amount is welcome. As of this blog posting, I’ve raised more than $1500. My goal is at least $3500, but once I hit that mark, I’ll start nudging the goal up.
